Venü Magazine’s Inaugural Art Awards:
Recognizing Creative Excellence

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Inaugural Venü Art Awards, a prestigious competition recognizing the most exceptional talent across the artistic spectrum. Our mission is to shine a light on artists who push boundaries, ignite conversations, and inspire through their unique visions. This year’s awards feature a diverse array of categories, ensuring that creativity in all its forms is celebrated.
Eligibility:
Open to all living artists ages 18 and up. All entries must be original, completed in the past three years. All mediums are welcome.
Entries and Fees:
There is no limit to the number of entries that an artist may submit. Payment does not guarantee an award.
An entry consists of 1-image of work, with up to 4-images of detail: (process, or installation images), for a total of 5-images.
Additional artworks my be entered by creating another entry form and paying the application fee.
Works will be individually considered for Venü Awards.
Juried Artwork: $35 per entry
Entry fees are non-refundable.
Awards:
The Venü Art Awards will be juried by an exceptional panel of renowned art world experts in six categories (2D Art, Digital Art, Installation Art, Mixed or Multi-Media, Photography, Sculpture).
Winners will be announced during a live event celebration in the Palm Beach area, March, 2025, (location and date to be determined).
The Grand Prize winner will be interviewed for an exclusive feature story in Venü’s Summer 2025, issue #55. The winners of each category will be included in Venü along with a photo of their winning entry, the Merit Award winners will also be mentioned. All winners mentioned in print will additionally be in our digital edition as well as on Venü’s website: www.VenuMagazine.com
Grand Prize: Honoring the artist who has made a significant impact with their work in any medium.
First Place: Celebrating the top artist in each category for their outstanding
craftsmanship and vision.
Several Merit Awards: Recognizing exceptional skill and creativity in a particular category, deserving of special acknowledgment.

Jurors:
Bruce Helander
Bruce Helander is highly regarded as a juror for art and museum competitions, including the Smithsonian and the Philadelphia Museum among many. He has a master’s degree in painting from Rhode Island School of Design, where he later became the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs of the college. His artworks are in over fifty museum collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, LACMA, Whitney Museum of American Art and MOCA in Los Angeles.
Nancy McTague-Stock
Nancy McTague-Stock is an American artist with over twenty five years experience as a juror, mentor and curator. She received a Fellowship for post-graduate work at The Slade School of Art, University of London, an MFA from Lesley University and a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. Awarded prizes, residencies, grants and fellowships, her work has been exhibited in over sixteen countries. Private and institutional collectors include Yale University, Douro Museum in Portugal and The Library of Congress among others
Mark Grosser
Michael Grosser is the past Executive Director of the Bench Jewelers Passion Award, where he managed national design competitions. Michael’s extensive experience as a jury member, including for many prominent art festivals—has honed his ability to assess submissions with a discerning eye. He actively supports the artist community through two large private Facebook groups, Art Fair Reviews and Art Fair Lounge, which engage thousands of artists in discussions, reviews, and best practices.
Joanna Plafsky
Joanna Plafsky is an Academy Award winning international film producer and distributor known for discovering, supporting and cultivating visionary artists and organizations. She has produced and developed dozens of successful films and projects worldwide. Serving on the board of the David Lynch Foundation, she co-founded the David Lynch Graduate School of Cinematic Arts, which offers cutting-edge filmmaking education.

By submitting an application, I agree to the terms & conditions and event rules as set forth in the application and on the magazine's website. I also warrant that the artworks submitted for jurying and the artworks to be shown were produced, solely by myself or in collaboration with the co-artist in the category in which selected.
I also authorize use of the images submitted with my application or duplicates thereof for Venü Magazine publicity, documentation or archival purposes.
I agree to grant a license to Venü Magazine to reproduce electronically and in print, my original artwork.
I understand by applying, I retain full copyright of my original artwork. My images shall not be redistributed except as anticipated on Venü’s Web sites (venumagazine.com and venuawards.com, social media related to Venü Art Awards on Venü’s social media accounts; @venumagazine), Venü Magazine’s printed edition, advertising and other Venü-related media, without the express written permission of myself. Venu Magazine, LLC reserves the right to make final interpretations of all rules.
