Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of, and incorporated into, the Juried Art Services ("JAS") Terms of Service. It sets out what you may and may not do on the platform. It applies to everyone who uses JAS — artists, event organizers, jurors, buyers, and service providers.

1. Prohibited activities

You may not, and may not allow anyone else to:

  • Use JAS for any unlawful purpose, or to facilitate one.
  • Post, sell, or display artwork, images, text, logos, or other content that you do not own or have the right to use (see the IP Infringement Policy).
  • Sell counterfeit, forged, stolen, or falsely attributed work — including reproductions sold as originals, or work you are not authorized to sell.
  • Defraud or deceive — misrepresent yourself, your work, your prices, your identity, or your affiliation; use a false or stolen identity; or engage in payment fraud, chargeback abuse, or money laundering.
  • Take a transaction that began on JAS off-platform to avoid fees, or otherwise evade platform rules or payments.
  • Harass, threaten, defame, stalk, or discriminate against other users or staff.
  • Post content that is obscene, that sexualizes children, that is hateful, or that promotes violence or illegal activity.
  • Upload malware; probe, scan, or breach security or authentication; scrape or harvest data with bots; overload the infrastructure; or interfere with others' use of JAS.
  • Create accounts by automated means, create accounts to evade a suspension, impersonate others, or share or transfer your account without authorization.
  • Send unsolicited bulk messages, or misuse messaging, reviews, or outreach features.

2. Prohibited goods and content

Because JAS supports the sale of artwork, the following may not be listed, offered, or sold:

  • Counterfeit, replica, or falsely attributed artwork; forgeries; or unauthorized reproductions presented as originals.
  • Stolen goods, or goods you are not legally authorized to sell.
  • Items whose sale is illegal or restricted: weapons and ammunition, illegal drugs or paraphernalia, tobacco, hazardous materials, human remains, and protected wildlife or products made from protected or endangered species (e.g., ivory).
  • Content that infringes another person's copyright, trademark, publicity, or privacy rights.
  • Content that is illegal, and any sexual content involving minors (strictly prohibited and reported to authorities).
  • Anything prohibited by the payment processor's acceptable-use policy where the transaction is processed through that processor.

This list is illustrative, not exhaustive. JAS may refuse, remove, or decline to process any listing or content at its discretion.

3. Seller conduct

If you sell or offer work or services on JAS, you must:

  • List accurately — describe the work, its medium, provenance, condition, and price truthfully.
  • Honor your listings and completed sales, and deliver goods and services as described.
  • Hold and convey clear title to what you sell.
  • Comply with the Terms of Service, the payment processor's rules, and applicable tax and consumer laws.

4. Reporting violations

5. Enforcement

JAS may, with or without notice, remove or disable content, limit features, suspend or terminate accounts, reverse or withhold transactions, and report activity to the payment processor or to law enforcement, for any violation of this AUP or the Terms of Service. Serious or repeated violations result in termination.

6. Relationship to the Terms of Service

This AUP is part of the JAS Terms of Service. If there is a conflict on a use-restriction question, the more restrictive provision applies. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms of Service.
